Handcrafted with Care
Each rocking horse is made by hand in Jan Zambrunnen's small workshop in Lake Tekapo. Trained as a carpenter in Switzerland, Jan cuts, shapes, and sands every individual piece before carefully assembling each horse by hand.
The rockers are the most time-intensive part of the process, the wood must be slowly bent and formed into their characteristic curved shape. Jan uses American white ash throughout, chosen for its exceptional durability and superior quality, ensuring each rocking horse is built to last for generations.
